I am a self-taught painter living in the Derbyshire Dales, England. I am inspired by the moody landscape, changing weather and historic architecture that surrounds me. I have been painting professionally since winning the Derbyshire Open Art Exhibition in 2002. I paint in acrylic on board with a slightly textured background which adds movement and interest. A small amount of detail is applied by pencil. All my paintings are framed and ready to hang. My simplified paintings are intended to evoke emotion, rather than to be an actual place, to remind people of places they have visited, days they have experienced, a peace and calm they long for. I hope you enjoy looking at my paintings.
